What is now the Apple Cottage B&B was built in 1877 as a parsonage for the Methodist Episcopal Church. It was restored in 2005 with its original wood floors, beaded ceilings and plastered walls. The exterior of this fachwerk style home was stuccoed several years later. You’re welcome to wander around the immediate neighborhood to view other historic structures.

During these early years the very large two-room basement served as a Texas Itinerant Commercial College. The church later sold the Parsonage for a family home.
