Scott ZeschList Item 1
Scott Zesch was born and raised in Mason, Texas after his great-great grandfather settled in the area in the mid-1850's. Zesch brings the story of Mason to life is his book "The Captured: A True Story of Abduction by Indians on the Texas Frontier".

Fred GipsonList Item 2
Fred Gipson is best known for writing the 1956 novel "Old Yeller", which later became a popular 1957 Walt Disney film. In addition to the popular book "Old Yeller", Gipson also wrote a number for western themed short stories.

J. Marvin HunterList Item 3
J. Marvin Hunter was an author, historian, publisher and printer best known for his work in founding the "The Frontier Times Museum" in Bandera, Texas. Born and raised in Mason (and the surrounding area), Hunter began his newspaper career at an early age when he left school to work for his father at the Mason Herald. Throughout his career he penned a number for books about the western frontier.
